Library Fiber Internet Connectivity Program

Library Fiber Internet Connectivity Program (LFICP)

For all Connecticut libraries who are not yet connected to CEN, this project provides them the opportunity to benefit from a fully funded fiber build to connect their library to CEN and obtain access to the full range of products, services, and community resources and events that distinguish CEN from all other Connecticut Internet service providers.

Learn more about the project features, benefits, eligibility, timelines, and next steps below.

What does the project provide?

This project provides full funding to build a dedicated fiber connection to CEN for a 20-year period, CEN equipment and labor to provision the service, and all associated project management costs. Once connected to CEN, the member will be responsible for the monthly recurring subscription cost to the CEN DIA Bundle and the monthly fiber maintenance cost.

What are the project benefits to libraries?

  • Ability to burst to full line speed without data caps and overage charges
  • Dedicated bandwidth and tier commitments matched to regular usage (95%ile)
  • Full time protection from distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks
